Lol! Great write Wize. You’re right on cooking the grits but as for me, I won’t have them any other way but with butter and sugar. That’s the part of breakfast that as the old folk used to say “sticks to your ribs”. Dig the title too. Interestingly enough, have a piece entitled Soul Deep as well but it’s not about grits. Thanks for the share. I may just have some for breakfast now. Peace.

@ Lady Poet lol, glad you could see the humor in it, I tell my sister that all the time she likes sugar on her grits too. Didn't know that tho, is your poem on here or in your book?

LP45 says:

It's on here and it will be in Can You Dig It? Volume 2.

@Lady Poet I read the poem love it, want you to know out of respect for your creativity I changed the tittle, you're right it's a damn good title.

LP45 says:

When great minds think alike, change isn't necessary. We need more of us thinking like so we can truly understand what our version means to us and how we want it to be portrayed it to the world. Respectfully, I thank you but a fellow poet once told me, you should have to change anything about who you are and how you write unless you yourself want to change it. "Deep Dish" is an excellent title as well. Wouldn't have my grits any other way. Pass the bowls please! LOL

@Lady Poet, Thank you and yes I do agree.

I meant "shouldn't" have to change. Typo. No peepers on.

Well...well...well. Grits! My wife is from New Orleans; I grew up in Texas, lived several decades of my adult life in Jamaica! I love cheese in my grits---cooked slow. Ever had grits with Bar-B-Que or Curry Goat. Gotta go y'all, time for breakfast! Peace and Love, mlowe5 (try dropping some blueberries in "dem" grits)
