you never told me to forget you
I did it on my own it wasn't easy for me
I did it one day at a time I know you
think I'm remembering you now
facts! I am for a brief moment to
scrawl these lines still it's hard to
see your face it's like I'm blind
every time I search my thoughts
you're no where on my mind
I paid the price of trusting you
it wasn't worth the cost for me
all is lost I forgot what you done

Now I See ItI'm glad about a lot of things but for the most part I'm glad the lights are still on I know what it's like to sit in the dark for days waiting for Center Point Energy to come through like the mailman on the first of the month electricity is a necessity especially when it's 110 degrees can't turn on the AC cause it run on electricity all the ice cream is melting in the deep freeze the seemingly quiet cozy community is turning into a hostile environment I'm behind the scene loading a shotgun preparing for home defense in the yard eyes on the fence open the gate and get blowed away it's sounds a bit extreme it's not a dream but has been seen on a movie screen these experiences are predictively expected to become reality probably sooner than expected it's been tested don't know if we passed it we still here so I guess we did yet those who left we're often told their in a better place than we are I pray my mother prays more than me I meditate more than she does though she tried to m...  |

Laughing It Offif you been trying to catch up to me you gone have to think outside the box I ain't been in the box since I been in a playpen since I left the crib since I been in a bib I think you get the just of it now here's the rest of it I hit the ground running since I jumped off the roof still got scars to prove I flew off the top of the dome been locked up every since gone need to call a locksmith to pick all the wicks spit liquid hotter than fried catfish grease quick witted like a side of quick grits you'll probably find me like Waldo in the thick of it somewhere in the mix don't try to make sense of it it's not meant to boggle the mind but it might toggle the brain a tad bit tapping into what just happened a minute ago amidst a hour of flow don't go to sleep you'll miss the show waken by the applause while the credits roll ask me what happened I don't know what to tell you other than wait for the review |
