Ole' Mistakes Upheld

Why are we working so damn hard
to get paid for our faith in humanity
hump in the back got through the day
while losing Christ's love we can't afford.
Is it so necessessary passing by eon tears
suited up balling 'in da club' to fav song
refusing to apologize for abusing the wise
refrain from speaking up 'cause Fridays here.
Name calling generated by axis of real evil
in an unknown world to universe cursing
following the Joneses, but they moved on too
to follow others, that's what the Joneses do.
Why accept hate on a date blind or not blind
as capitalistic bull is being spread like carpet
Friday has come, paycheck in hand, rug pulled!
My courage is nourished by the now factorys
uninhibited companies passionate about fate
worry and shame takes a dip in the ole' back seat
my generational ties are flipping Lincoln pennies.
Why are we working? To uphold old mistakes again
prison walls written needing not one pen, I cringe
though unbeaten in this generous world I live in.
