Relationships start off like oh so right
Making love damn near every single night
Dancing, the movies, going out bowling
Cracking so many jokes, I'm on the floor rolling
Rolling with smiles and oh such laughter
You were what I thought was my forever after
Everyone knew that it was just us two
The vibes and love between us just grew
Grew so strong, but then it all went wrong

Here comes the nagging, the bickering and doubt
Along with the lies, the hanging and sleeping out
Who are these other girls calling yo phone
Dem' girls don't know, they better leave you alone
But I don't just blame them, it's yo fault too
Cause cheatin' with them was somethin' you chose to do

Arguing and fussing, raising yo voice and cussing
Words were said out of frustration
I took those words into consideration
What happened to the smiles, the good times and fun
What happened to the Bonnie and Clyde moments on the run
What happened to our "Just Us" moments in time
Wow, how I wish I could simply press rewind

This relationship is not what I thought was meant to be
So for me to have peace of mind, I decided to be free
I knew what I had to do and as a lady I didn't react
I knew that once I left, there would be no turning back
I didn't run, I didn't hide
I waited patiently for the sun to rise
I didn't kiss him in the end
Nor did I kiss him when this began

Nice write Colette. Great flow with the ups and downs of love. I can definitely relate to this. Thank you for sharing it.

Most definitely can relate. Those "Bonnie and Clyde" moments were just that! Was Judas "in love with Christ's teaching, or did he love Christ? Relationships have their waning faults, but the true love is everlasting--going on beyond the "fun" of being "in love" with the fun. Thanks for another powerful share. Peace and Love.
