I love you for your mistakes
I love you for mistreating me
I love you for beating me
when I ran away from
the mistake you made
when you were young
you were only 17 that man
was 24 years old that's
something you didn't want
me to know I love you
for not giving me affection
I love you for not paying
me no mined remember
the time I told the truth
you told me "stop lying"
dear mama I love you
for all the scars on me
I love you for all the
verbal abuse you use
to use on me what I'm
trying to say is I love you
anyway regardless of
the things you use to say
I can't blame you for
every thing I love you
I like you and wish you had a
better life than conceiving me
one mistake can change
every thing I learned
from yours and moved
in a different way
I love you that's what
I really need to say
you can take this any
way I firmly believe God

my distaste for voting season is people act like their talking to children telling them don't forget to brush their teeth asking them did they wash their hands telling them what they should do what they need to do what they have to do people act like they get paid to remind grown folk to vote who's going to know you did if they didn't see you do it
