You conjure dreams
of absent time
and solid streams.

Where rampant minds
submit to hearts on sleeves
and kneeling knees in
ripped jeans.

Where Gravity blesses autumn leaves
that stumble through love laced
mementos and dauntless themes.

A Poet's Canvas

To be the muse of a poet

is to stain the canvas of time

with your essence.

To inspire a masterpiece,

simply by your presence.

To be both the brush's bristles

and the canvas of artistic passion.

To paint emotions with words

not seen by the masses.

Broken Hearts on the Pier

Where have you been?  
How are you doing?  
I hope you're doing fine. 

Memories of you 
kept me traveling through time. 
Fleeting visions of your face 
race through and through
my mind. 

We thought our love was solid, 
victims of the sublime. 
The choice was mine, 
I had to step aside. 
I had to let you go. 
I was trying to hold you down,
gave you money and vows
but I found 
that I never let you grow. 
Young love was dumb love
but still love; 
That's all I know.
I can’t even hide it.
The ink drops and emotions flow.
 
You went off to college, 
I went to the Navy.
Pursuant of knowledge,
don’t evade me.

I was insecure. 
I was scared, 
Scared that you would

Can you see it in my eyes?
Just a lover in disguise.
Take the time to break my pride.

This ain’t easy,
believe me,
you’ve been advised.
I’ve been a victim too many times by guys that hit my line.

This is nonsense.

Why do you call it love
when you don’t even know the concept?

Are we you just accomplish?
You say you want to free me,
but your need for me is bondage.
You might be honest,
but your promise is bad timing.

Can you see it in my eyes? Just lover in disguise. Will you take the time
to break my pride?

 

Conquer

Love is power.
Intimidation for cowards.
Conquer my conscious
I’m conscious this world is ours.
Fade into my pages.
Where former ways lay devoured.
Where lovers and beloveds
absent of voice speak the loudest.
Silence…
Is my message is well received
amongst the sirens?
I lost my heart in these pages
trust only your eyes can find it.
Love is power.
