You are something that is so beautiful
So flawless and so free,
As you long to know the secret
Behind possessing so much beauty.
So you catch it and you hold it
And then you pin It to the ground,
You poke and prod of it for hours
And so finally it's secret has been found.
You examine it so closely
But you're always wanting more,
Until you slowly start to notice
It's golden blood to cross the floor.
So you rush to find its heartbeat
But you only find silence in its place,
And a thought suddenly comes to you
As tears start streaming down your face.
That the secret was not hidden
Because it was never even there at all,
It was a simple act of living
That had you so very enthralled.
That you spent your whole life waiting
For your beauty to be shown,
But in wanting everybody else's
You had been failing to see your own.
