YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW'S AFTERTHOUGHTS

Drowning in today’s

systemic racist flood

my teary eyes bleed life’s

flowing black blood

and my hued nose struggles

daily to breathe  the fueling air

my black lungs seek to receive.

Oh God may not the last

ringing echo my deafening

ears will hear be my heavenly mother’s

crying words: Come baby; mommy’s here.

Pray tell my death will not fade into a lost

scared memory of unjust deferment because

the found guilty of my breathless demise

was able to choose a 5th amendment jurisprudent

ploy to further delay the liberation of justice.
