When rough traveled roads
Endlessly seam
Visions of impossibility
Begin to gleam.
Discouragingly we watch
Distant but in sight
Impending darkness consuming
All aspects of light.
When all hope seems lost
How can one not concede,
As faith and trust struggle to breathe?
And as that darkness draws nigh
And we’re silenced with fear,
How does one not succumb
As our eyes fill with tears?
Where the only way out
Is to go through
And this darkness somehow knows
Just how to handle you.
Blinded by its blackness
It’s like you no longer exist
Just you and death,
No memories to reminisce.
No matter how much you try
Your voice cannot be heard
As you helplessly struggle
To utter a word.
With time at a standstill
And no other soul around,
Stripped of every loving thing,
You lay lifeless on the ground.
Death approaches you
For your last and final word.
You reply, “I’ve made my peace,
My voice has been heard”.
As death begs to differ
He raises his scythe
But he’s stopped by the beam
Of the Lord’s glowing light.
For even in the darkest of times
His light will always shine through
Because the Lord will never leave
Nor forsake you.
You rise renewed with strength
Commanded by His nod
Showing death what happens
When you let go and let God!
Psalm 37:5 KJV:
Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
