With weary watering red eyes,
Here I sit in the womb of my room
Gazing out into a beautiful living scene:-
My gaze flooded with spring’s tranquility.
In bright sunlit trees, squirrels play
Hide-and-seek between branches laden
With leaves reflecting their season’s green;
Shading the other aerial anchor-tenants;
Below, red-breasted cardinals, with their
Needle-like beaks, rhythmically peck away
Between chlorophyll sheen blades of grass!
Periodically, the restless wind streams its
Invisible presence by waving the shadows
Low leafy branches and hedge-like foliage
Spread across the green terrestrial carpeting.
High up in the canopy of the cerulean sky,
With its polka-dotted cottage cheese-like clouds,
A strange dark avian with wide outstretched wings,
Can be seen gracefully gliding the airways.
Sitting here in the womb of my room,
Looking out and contemplating this living
Canvassing of nature that God has given,
My hope and faith again flourish, and brief
Experienced dismay has evaporated.
I now rise up with a resurrected spirit,
A renewed soul and undying determination:-
To God be the glory and thanksgiving for sharing
A living experience of that peaceful tranquil nature
That’s coming to today’s human trials and tribulations.
