THE DAY I LEFT BROOKLYN

CATEGORY

-There was no need to have my bags packed.
-There was no need to call a cab.
-There was no need to leave a key at the front desk.
-I just headed west because I felt that was best.
-So with just the clothes on my back & my thumb to the wind.
-I left Brooklyn never to return again.
-See my heart still holds a place for Brooklyn.
-But Brooklyn has no space for me.
-I always seem to shatter dreams.
-And Brooklyn Rae needs to beam.
-On the somebody that's deserving of those lights.
-Since I'm a simple mammal that's a creature of the night.
-I left Brooklyn because I thought it was right.
-So with just the clothes on my back & with my thumb in the wind.
-I left Brooklyn never to return again.
