This ni**a I thought was prefect for me
A friend first, one of my best, always there for me
When we both were ready, we committed to finally be together husband and wife planning a wedding
The happiest I had ever been
Only a few weeks went past before his attitude changed
Looking through my phone he read messages, he accused me of giving random ni**as the same I have given him
He accused me of disrespecting my home, myself and him
I was offended that he seen me this way
My job isnt to show him who I am, he should know
I am who I am and I don’t have to prove that to anyone
If my pure loyalty, respect, and honesty isn’t appreciated
Letting him break me down to fit his opinion of me isn’t an option
Even if the words hurt, the opinion you have of me stings, the disrespect of the woman I fought to be.
You have to remember those words do not define you
Just because you love him and want him doesn’t mean you have to prove your loyalty and honesty everyday becasue he sees you disrespectful and untrsutworthy
You know who you are and what you’ve done and capable of
You can’t let him make you feel you’re not who you are
It is a lesson to be learned
A reminder to not let men in that aren’t ready for what you are
A reminder that it could be easy to let the ones you love tear you down and make you forget self-love
Remember fighting for love is important, but if that fight leaves you broken and less of a woman its not worth it
Get the tears out and feel the pain
Then laugh it off because you know his opinion of you means nothing to the strong woman you became
Laugh at the hurtful things that he tries to beat you down with
Laugh because you know you dodged a bullet
Laugh instead of crying because you are strong and can move on
Laugh because this wasn’t the man for you no matter how much you loved him and wanted him , no matter how much you opened up and gave him your all his action, telling you he sees you as something you are not, seeing anything wrong no matter if it’s the truth or not
This is showing you he is not where you need to be
So laugh knowing that he didn’t take away from the woman he cant see
Laugh because you learned something from this
Laugh because giving a piece of yourself and loving hard should never be regrated
Laugh because after this door closes more open
Laugh because this won’t break you
Laugh because its easier then crying
Laugh because his hate is his and not for you to take on
