Hey there my fellow poets! Blessings and greetings to you all for a prosperous new year. Life has been pretty rough for me since I last posted but nonetheless, as always with God's mercy and grace I've persevered. I'm finally at a point where I can start posting again. I so miss being on here and reading everyone's works. I hope that everything is going well for everyone. Let's keep the inklove flowing!

The Day After (Post Memorial)

It still hadn’t hit me yet

Or maybe it had

And I was in denial.

I don’t remember feeling

Much of anything.

Perhaps the company of

Two of my grandsons

Helped cushion the blow

I know God put them there

Because He knew the depth

Of my pain.

Either way it helped,

So many times I wanted to cry

But I didn’t.

I chose to smile instead as I

Basked in the comfort He gave me

Amidst the pain I was feeling.

And that’s how I made it through

The day of, the day before

And the day after.

Yes indeed they are TEEDUB. But this is referencing my husband's memorial service that took place this past July and my grandchildren. Thank you for your kind words. Peace and blessings.
