Six decades into this adventure called life
One fourth spent with my daughter, one half with my wife
It’s nearly halftime, as these winkles and gray hairs multiply
Spending less time on the ‘hows’ and more energy on the ‘whys’
I’d never imagined how viruses, racism, and the geopolitical climate would evolve
All of the challenges we face, each of the problems we must solve
But I’m content with who and where I am in the present day
The third quarter has just begun, and I’m ready to play!
