I blame the men of the greatest generation
For messing up household dynamics, here’s the situation
Most took their wives’ attention and household management for granted
Unable to vote or work, women could no longer stand it!
Told their daughters to seek their own power and independence
Men today ask for permission, but the greatest generation never begged for forgiveness!
Growing up, my mom told me often, 'Don't you dare be like Mister!'
From the Color Purple, 'having women on the side and chasing away Celie’s sister…'
I don’t mind mind that my wife brings home half the bacon
But damn was grandpa lucky to have grandma at home patiently waiting
With a warm welcome, a newspaper, slippers, and dinner in the oven...
I know it sounds chauvinistic
But when my wife and I both get home, we're tired, hungry, and stressed out, if I’m getting specific!
Working to pay for daycare, we all spend more time apart than the greatest generation ever did
I wonder how things will be in the future for my kid (daughter)?
