You turn out okay, so I won’t give you too much advice
Six decades of living, but we still haven’t quite mastered our life
Those flashes of greatness you’ll chase in vain
You should continue to pursue pleasure than you do to avoid pain
We were damn near 30 before we realized that thinking outside of boxes is our claim to fame
Another decade before we really started to write
Your mused and motivation, interchangeably are our daughter and wife
I don’t want temp fate, and risk us losing either
It was love at first sight, and phone calls to mom saying I think that she’s a keeper!
You’ll spend a lot of energy worrying about what you don’t have and what you think you need
But most of the advice you receive you’ll consider, and half you’ll actually heed
Hindsight’s 20/20, but keep your eyes off the rearview mirror
Though the road ahead seems dark and foggy, I promise that soon it’ll get much clearer
Continue to trust your gut, lead with your heart and not your head
Now put down that phone and carry your a$$ to bed!
