The cross: tree lynching—
Jesus and Simon walking:-
None mattering lives…
Simon of Cyrene—
Ebon man helping Jesus:-
Mattering hued lives...
I am a Black man—
My life seems not to matter:-
I pray that yours does…
Be blessed and save lives—
Destroying life is a sin:-
Black lives must matter…
All is inclusive—
All Black lives must matter too:-
Can’t be Whites only…
You said accepting Black Lives matter
By school and the church was too
Political; never giving thought to what if
Jesus had said something like that, then.
Did you feel that to support
Black Lives Matter could become
Financially critical—feeling more
Comfortable knowing that it was
Not your fault that some Christians
Where chosen to be born black?
You indicated that when privileged
And white, everything you did was right;
And the mattering of black lives
Was not clearly, not yours to fight!
Oh, though you speak with
The forked tongue of men
Without charity, I forgive you,
For it is written that I should
Not fall for such deception:
God is not mocked: for
Whatsoever a man soweth,
That shall he…[also]…reap.
As for me, it has always been deemed
That mine and all black lives matter;
For it is written, “…they who wait upon
The Lord shall renew their strength; they
Shall mount up with wings as eagles;
They shall run, and not be weary, and
They shall walk, and faint.”
To God be the glory in the mattering of
All lives; for all is indeed, inclusive:
Black lives have always mattered—as
Demonstrated by Simon—the Cross—Jesus.
