Daddy Didn't Live

((Daddy Didn't Live))

When I was a kid & not that big

Our mother held the family tight,

our daddy was no where to be seen

as big brothers taught me how to fight.

Yes, I do remember those days

just like it was yesterday,

even my big sister taught me things

of course that too was great.

Oh the times of running around,

full of curiosity and much laughter,

though when a push came to a shove

I didn't know what I was after.

All I knew is that I

only had to behave, and give,

mother was the best at discipline

daddy? Our daddy didn't live.

I feel you, BlackMista. My Dad passed on when I was a year and 6 months old; my baby sister was just 6 months old. My other 2 sisters we 3 and 5. Our Mother never remarried. But he left us with a great and powerful extended family of Aunts and Uncles that our children grew up to call GrandMa and GrandPa. Thanks for the happy and thankful tears this write gave. Peace and Love.
