A Banana Please
"You wanna banana?"
It almost seem like a cheap shot
making fun of things done, to things we've got.
The view of being raised in a loving family
says to that, keep on giving in order to be.
It's who and what we are, no bells nor whistles
the blessing is being able, even to feel any bristles.
I never ever wanna slide past a chance to give
I'll run quickly to life's table in order to live!
How about a peach, a plum, a piece of bubble gum
as children, to not ask, you'd simply get none.
In relating to our life position we have done much
to acquire much held always by life's loving touch.
Hooray! I say, for all of us that made it through
pushed into a world, whole, that needed me and you.
All set up, fields of greens, tomatoes, carrots, and peas
stumbling, tired, long days, seasons, bananas, and seas.
Life unpacked itself and allowed all to willingly stand
I'll place my bet upon who's truly holding my hand.
These gifts, romantically swirling about in applause
to be received from other lives only just because.
We see, taste, smell, hear, and even feel it all
joyfully, on purpose, a banana? Yes! before I fall.
Then, shall life or love or acquiring things be over?
Nay, I dare say, it's giving keeps me able and sober.
