Suddenly, the lights went out
To play; leaving a complete darkness
Revealing itself as well all of the hidden
That had been taken for granted—all coming
Into clear view from the cradle of the womb of mind:-
The sun cannot be seen at night;
The moon, just a mere reflection;
And the bright constellations are
Only seen in the darkness; and the
Lightning of day cannot compare
To that released in the night***
Whether with, whether without, sleep
Can only be realized in darkness—even
If it decides to come in the day—with
Or without bright surrealism of dreams:-
Strange how darkness can reveal
So many things taken for granted.
Indeed, it is only out of the darkness
That we can realize each dawning’s
Awaken grace sacredly greeting us:
‘Good morning, let there be light!’
