All this time…
the good seeds planted, within
our fertile minds…
Race, around
and around... around
and around
like the tract of the sands
of the hourglass
within our flesh and bones
At such a blinding pace…
Reminders, all the weeds
of our disgrace
act to retard
our forward progress
Going nowhere, fast…
burn away the clouds of evolution
as extinction erases yet another
Group of unfortunates’ presence
From the table of the living…
And sweeps them
as they fall DEAD
into the past
Hear the conductor yell!
ALL ABOARD!!!
The locomotive is smoking
Another trainload of fools,
standing around, smoking cigarettes
like they've got nothing else, going on
joking
Headed out the station to prospect
fools gold
(pyrite, to all you amateur, geologists)
all disappear in an explosion,
with thick black smoke...
we can see their blank faces
as the train pulls away
frozen in horror... without emotion
Leaving with nary a trace
but the formula for change
For those remaining…
Another train, suddenly appears
out of thin air...
starts loading, immediately!
but, seems nobody cares...
with the variable changed, this time
instead of gold..
it's silver, stock certificates, bit coin
and an assortment of financial derivatives
the train comes to life with a bang!
and a hissssss
Its engine powerful,
snorting violently like a wild bull
Circling a wounded rival
Idling , ready for the next contest,
Revving up …then,
bellowing out the challenge
To the skillful, the brave, the foolish or unwary
To those of you more scholarly than foolish,
candidates, more or less survivors,
To defeat the beast and taste the beef
Season its meat and turn it slowly
In the fire… and those left over,
with some chance/potential
Due to luck, skill, guile, or force of will,
Ancestral guidance, purveyance
Become the wise/once naive
Students of keen strategy
with wit, and nerve...
Eager to survive…
Even pretenders…seeking the throne
To the lucky few
Bad asses, who for some stroke
Of pluck, odd circumstance, or genius
Survived for the appearance
Of
One who has aged well,
done fair
As anyone can tell…
Fears not either man nor beast
Studies religion and politics, just enough
to have the common sense...
knows the sun rises in the east
and sets to the west
taken one step
even further than that
thinks for themselves,
as a matter of fact
To have learned the dirty tricks
although, has a strange tic
in the way they talk
Suffers from a tendency for playing tricks
On the foolish, arrogant and the hypocrites
which tend to tick them off...
Beware, the square heads
Some who like to belittle older folks
Because they never got the memo
They simply don’t understand
that's no problemo
All the rough and tough
Folks, who learned the ropes
As young folks… learned
that to gain the upper hand
Evolving beyond hitting hard things
with their faces
Using their heads to understand
No just break things
But to break them down to pieces
they can understand...
And build them up again,
better...
Snow on the mountain,
a silver mane, that's seen many moons
of stormy weather
A crown of wisdom…
As opposed to an old fool
Who no matter how many times
Getting knocked down
Understanding,
The root of the changing
Dimensions…
those who have
Seen it all before
When the wild bull came again
They jumped the fence
Knowing its better
To be smarter ...than strong
Better… to, be alive
then
Dead wrong
And when the right
Answer comes to you, then, make your move
Intelligent minds prefer the view
From the ground up
Unless, until… time’s up
And turns the table when you're able
to topple the unbeatable foe
knowing, someday to find our place
Among them who know…
How to get the job done
push away from the game
leave your cards
on the table(they're cheating)
Better,
to mooove onnn
beyond the bull
(that’s no missed steak)
start our own ranch,
make yor own
chance
