It is said by the wise
that power concedes
nothing without a struggle.
If that be so,
let the power-hungry
warmongers struggle
in vain and despair…
For they are not
the oppressed of power
but are the oppressors of it.
Let them ever suffer in despair,
as they are not the abused—
but the bigoted abusers.
That they know what they do,
let the wicked suffer in abject pain;
for they are not the literal crucified
but are the evil satanic nailing crucifiers.
Let those intoxicated with power
know the sobering truth of Babylon—
that their power-drunkenness is in the
mist of a rude awakening from God’s power:
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
(Gal 6:7)
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no
might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint
and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings
like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint. (Is 40:29-31)
