Having—with hope and faith—overcome
Past moonless night-like trials and tribulations,
I met today’s sunshine-ones with the Balm of Gilead.
Be aware that each living day each night has its race;
And there’s no need to jump the gun in disqualification.
It’s not about coming in first place, but finishing the race:-
Indeed, it’s all about the wisdom of an old Japanese Proverb:
“Don’t worry about being slow; worry about standing still.”
You see, each challenge is about crossing the finish line.
We will always have trials and tribulations—even when liberated.
Thus, let us ever take heart in overcoming—fearing nothing; for
We will be strengthened by the ever-present hand of His love.
In the race of life, it is not so much about the dreamer, but the dream;
Along the trial and tribulation track, the dreamer may stumble and fall,
But the love of and for the dream will pick up the dreamer’s sated goal.
As Blk Bok keyboards and as Langston long ago immortally penned,
The hustle and bustle of life today, are as real as it has ever been—
She remains no crystal stairway but an ever-winding staircase.
And in her ever winding staircase, around each and every turn
We encounter new unexpected challenges staring us in the face;
Thus, with Jacob-like hope and faith, we must track life’s staircase.
Thus, when the treacherous mountainous staircase of life challenges you,
With toes of hope, heels of strength, and a tongue of faith, speak out to it:
“Get the hell out of my way, I’m on a finish-line track, I’ll see you in the sea!”
