Toi lost the Remote

CATEGORY

My dog died
The lights got cut off
I just got fired
Toi lost the remote

My house in foreclosure
Johnny got robbed
My car got wrecked
Toi lost the remote

My momma in the hospital
I cracked my cell phone
I'm pregnant
Look! Toi lost the remote

I failed the test to graduate
My motor went out
My husband left me
You heard what I said... Toi lost the remote

They cut me off food stamp
My nephew got shot
I can't find my keys
My daddy in jail

All I know is... Toi lost the remote!

(About this poem)
Just imagine somebody calling you with bigger fish to fry and the only thing you're dealing with is your children can't find the remote.

With all that is going on in the world and all the phone calls people get with serious, serious issues and crisis going on, all I get is a phone call from my daughter saying Toi lost the remote, I'll take it. I'll take those kind of phone calls any day.
Well, when it was all said and done, Toi really didn't lose the remote, it was on the bed under the covers of the one calling me.
But the situation inspired me to write and thank God for His favor.
So many people overlook and don't pay attention to the small blessings. It could have been so much worse. I am forever grateful. Thank You God!

(Be grateful even for the simple phone calls)

Indeed. We've come a long way from the cost of stamps and the Party Line (ask an elder). As common as it may be, everybody doesn't have a digital to read or hear from you and me. "Damn! Where's that damn remote?! ONE. Peace and Love.
