Damn, J. Edgar Hoover!
WIth all of the shenanigans
That he concocted to maneuver
The ruination of your legacy
Which comes as no surprise
That a man like him would
EVER be the recipient of
A Nobel Peace Prize!
Or any other humanitarian
Commendation
While he was living or
Ever to be Posthumously
Bestowed.
Because you see J. Edgar Hoover
was trying
To keep it Jim Crow.
By exterminating our leaders
and their character
By way of schemes
That he plotted through
His parochial eyes.
Then you have Ignorant and
jealous folk running around
talking about a wire tap
Damn, that I don't give a crap!
But I digress, because this poem
Is not about a small
minded hateful freak!
This poem is dedicated to a man
Who stood up for us all and took body
shots and turned the other cheek!
A man that gave his life so that
We could run and not have to keep
Crawling.
A man who was tired of the wheels of justice
Continuously stalling!
A man that rose up from out of the south
Who fought for freedom with each word from
Out of his mouth
A man that was torn
From this world before
I was even born.
I’ve seen so many movies reinact the day
That you went to be with the Lord.
My mother said the community
Went up in flames which is the exact
Opposite of what you preached
Which is the pen is mightier than the sword!
So, I am here today to give ‘big ups’ to the
Man that caused millions of people from all over
the world to come together and honor him with a
National Holiday
A man that brought Stevie Wonder to tears as
he dedicated his
beautiful song Happy Birthday!
A man that we lovingly celebrate each January
with all of our hearts.
