Me & Mrs. Jones

Some people say that the things that tend to make us fondly remember,

Are a familiar fragrance or the sound of a voice with it's inflection and timbre.

I must say that I wholeheartedly agree that it most definitely must be in the vibrato family of tones.
Because I can feel it each time that I hear Billy Paul's 1973 monster slow jam and a favorite on the Stepper's Set Me & MrsJones!
You see because it conjures up memories of good old fashioned
Heavy jade green drinking glasses with matching coasters
Plush green wall to wall sofas
A green refrigerator
Green house phone
Green everything
Cuz well hell we lived in the Green's!
Picture it Cabrini the mid 70's a
White flowered kitchen table with green place settings
Hanging mustard yellow colored and green beads at the entrance of our apartment hallway and in our bedroom hamster and cat pettings.
Sea monkeys,  See Saws and See N Says
Being very young and breaking minor laws
Like jay walking
Getting written up for talking
In class
At Richard E. Byrd
Or Jenner
Or Sojourner Truth
Or Schiller or St. Joseph
Or Manierre or Oscar Mayer
Savoring freeze pops and ice cream cones
On a hot summer day out on the porch
While the radio blares Me & MrsJones
Coming inside from playing and trying to avoid stepping on the prickly side of your mom's
Clear plastic runners
But ironically unlike the title Me & MrsJones
Our parents love was in tact and seemingly endless as
an Indian summer.
Come on you know what I mean as endless as A Game Of Thrones
You dig, my brothers and sisters as timeless as a time capsule and
As memorable as the incomparable Me & MrsJones.
