leaving Los Angeles headed for
Victorville is one hell of a climb
up a hill feels like Jesus took the wheel
floating through the air on wheels
stuck on cruise control
between San Bernardino
in southern California
on a dangerous road too
cloudy to see up ahead of me
nothing to guide me but
tail lights out in front of me
told everyone about the
exhilarating experience
they laughed and made fun
of the spiritual awakening
I grew in church on old time
religion then got too grown for
my britches tore out to make
my own decisions now I
I believe what I believe
not all I been told to believe
by those who chose to believe
what they were told to believe
I once believed in a Easter
bunny and and a old white man
called Santa Clause too now
when it comes to my soul I'm
the keeper of my own truth
living in water breathing under
water living on water wading
in the water can't burn fire with
fire clouds on the ground bursting
like water balloons woke up in
Apple Valley now I see clear to
the moon on top of a mountain
3,777 feet of elevation the
closest I'll ever get to heaven on the
ground rolled down the window
touch sky don't need wings to fly
I'll be there some time in
the morning or some time
Sunday evening or Sunday night
unsure of the exact time on the clock
until then I'll be sailing on the map
