When my Dad passed away
some folks were telling The Mom
how sorry and sad they were and I
heard my Mom say we didnt
come here to stay
Remember when I was about 8
he used to tell us 7 kids
we dont have a lot of money but
we have a lot of fun
I am now closing in on 75
got a lot done but every since
that day all my life I took that quote
and with it I did run all I did was run
and play

mlowe5 says: Thanks for the beautiful keloid memories. I'm now 81 . My father died when I was only 1.5 years old. My mother was very ill at and after the time. Extended family aunts and uncles stepped in. Heard the same words from the Uncle who raised me, and whom to this day, my 40 daughter and 50-year-old son, still refer to him as Grandpa! ONE. Family Affair Veterans DayNever did it before just want to give a shout out to the Vets from our household I shall start with my Dad he was a Cpl in the Marine Corp he was in Hawaii waiting to b shipped to Japan when they drop the A bomb did not go My deceased 2nd oldest brother was a Sgt in Marine Corps he was shipped headed to Vietnam when they got to Guam they needed a Sgt to b over firearms orders changed to stay there My sister this in 65 she was a Lcpl in the Marine Corps she was stationed Camp Lejune and Paris Island My deceased oldest brother he Was a Spec 4 in the Army he was stationed in Alaska I was a Spec 5 in the Army did a tour of Vietnam my younger recenctly deceased brother he was in the Army he was stationed in Germany My next to the youngest brother was in the Air Force he was in the Tops Of Bluues its a band in the Air Force that traveled to USO shows and bases playing different brand... |
