There's a point to be had
You're quite mad at the way the globe is currently turning
And the solar burning of your sun
Starting to slowly fade like the credits at the end of
Gone With The Wind
Collectively
from your Senate chairs
Running wrinkled fingers through your thin grey hairs
Singing Jim Croce
If I could save time in a bottle
And you are now realizing
it's a long time coming
Soon to be
a long time gone
You are groupies
Hangers on
to the times in the Antebellum south
Sadly realizing that
you all will be through
Where once your world was grey
It is slowly becoming blue
So whatcha gonna do
Create racist manifestos
Training your children in the way they should go
Send them out with automatic rifles
If they are not white
Kill them all
And leave their blood in the pristine virgin snow
I tell ya
The silence is so loud
it could wake up the dead
No comments of sympathy
Just silence instead
After all
these people would never have voted in your favor
They would never have been on your menu
Your flavor of the month
The dirty work done this past Saturday
Ten people
to never cross your path in the congressional hallway
Ten less people
to fear as a political replacement
Be careful
There are cameras in the basement
And we caught all of you giving each other a
joyous high five
Chatting anonymously on twitter
Or on Facebook Live
And I'm going to tune in to Fox TV at ten
Or
every conservative news station I can find
For my peace of mind
I wanna see and hear if your silence still screams
Replaced by anonymous memes
celebrating the massacre the other day
Trained
in your most glorious gospel ways
Your handsome young son
Took his automatic gun
A battle won
I am not too sure
Ten less lives to fear to replace you in
Congressional halls
But as God as my witness
you may win a battle or two
but you will never win the war
