Shattered mirrors,
Painting a picture,
Gathering shards,
Swept up as to discard.
Thinking I had it all, atlas.
Until one rogue piece cut from my…past
Close by, under tow, least expected,
Never thinking so, making a way,
Out the corner of my mind
I was hit from behind, twirling to find
It twas a mirage, surreal nightmare
The present gift was in the feel right heir
I forgot how shook I was to even go there
So I buried her imagery, until glimpsing memory,
Glancing blows, that brought sharp pangs,
That just as quickly, dissipates, leaving ponder,
Wandering around, cursing in the here and now
Questioning, how in the now, could I have let this happen,
What was the answer, so I wipe and smear the blood and tears
To continue my walk this way, forever cautious in sojourn
Life’s turn is always care-free, but we still must step cautiously
