Tin roof

Musical tap dance rains falling

striking the roof top

i kind of like it

(Hope it never stops)

old southern ways, hard and strong

people who knew right from wrong

Way back, good old yesterdays

people stuck together

when a persons word

was their bond

because your reputation

made your character stand for you

from the cradle to the grave

the same folks everybody knew

word got around about

what was what and who was who

When all food was hand made.

 people’s homes were built pre-paid

with neighbors, always there

ready to give a helping hand

friendly neighbors young and old

grew up together and heard the same stories told

people who would understand

the joy and pains of life's demands.

Those who would be there

to help each other

And make-do.

One love for each truth

we'd come together

after the days work was done

Whether to share grief

or just have fun.

Hard work like simple truth

will never go out of style.

By city block or country mile...
