Swiftly Gone

They didn’t know that it would happen to her
The red and blue lights flashing
Sirens wailing
Children were crying
Someone died
One shot
Two shots
Three shots more
A body thuds to the floor
Blood seeps and creeps
From a heart that was once filled with love
Now her loving heart pumps no more
Her life extinguished because of a miniscule moment full of rage
Swiftly gone
But never forgotten
Her memory forever remains
