What would we do baby, without us?
What would we DO baby, without uh uh us…
Sha la la la

You'd do almost anything that I’d say gah
I'd turn you on and you'd be like SEGA!!!
Instead of you, I started chasing that paper (yup!)
Then, when you was in danger
I couldn’t save ya!
Cold and alone, I soon lost your fav-ah (mmm)
Far from a playa
But we used to crush a lot… (Ha!)
It used to be all action and climaxes
Now it’s just conflict and a sad plot (damn!)
Want to get back to the old us
Late and running fast, but we still missed the bus! (Damn)
Trying to do right, but we still fight and fuss
Warm embraces replaced with mean mugs and disgust! (Uhh)
Neglect and respect lost, now how can we both trust? (Trust?)

What would we do baby, without us?
What would we DO baby, without uh uh us…
Sha la la la….

I moved away decades ago, but we still text and call (Call)
Not as often as we’d like to, like back when we was small
Spent summers running the streets, playing games and watching TV in the fall
In rain, sleet, or snow, we’d always hoop and play ball (ball!)
Us three favored each other, like mirrors on the wall
Know that love and think of you often, even if I don’t call… (Call!)

What would we do baby, without us?
What would we DO baby, without us (uh uh uh…..)
Sha la la la….

My hero and shero, I see you both clear (Yup!)
Even though I left home years ago, after my senior year
I still think of you often, blessed with the knowledge and values you gifted (Thanks!)
So now when I advise you, please don’t get it twisted!
I’m the parent now, so my criticism is just love (Love)
What you see and feel, is just my frustration, not slight or a shove (Yeah!)
I don’t ‘know’ better, but my opinion is reciprocation
Your years, time, and energy invested, returned with interest, from your son Jason

And there ain't no nothing we can't love each other through
Whoo-whoo!
What would we doooo baby, without uh uh us…

Sha la la la!

The last stanza says it all; adding "Sha la la la! Powerful. Great share. One. Peace and Love.
