I don't think I have ever left a note on Poetry Vibe for black history poems for church. I grew up there and a large part of me is the church. The people did not turn out to be what I thought they would be but God never let me down. He has always been a consistent theme in my life and I am better for it.
I lost him for a while and then I had to fight hard to find him again. I actually remember some of the people that I grew up with in church. Most of them turned out to be great people. I hope they have the same opinion of me. I dont even think I was thinking about that at the time, I was just thinking about the good times we were having before, during and after church.
We kept things positive and did not know about the negativity of the world. So the church has been a part of my black history.
So today I offer this prayer. I wish the best for you and your family. May you always know prosperity and that all of your dreams and goals are in sight and just within your reach. Always keep trying to be better than you thought you could be. You were meant to be free and the world is a much better place because you are in it. Never give up hope and always believe that all things are possible.
Prayer to the Most High
Please always keep an eye on me and know that I walk in your faith. I am your discipline and remain disciplined in your understanding of my soul and give you the wheel. My nerves remain steel and remain in your presence.
So what is going to be your footprint in the world? How will you make a bigger footprint today than you made yesterday? Will you recognize your power and exercise it?
Stop seeing less of yourself but understand that you are a child of God and with him you will reign forever. May you always make a difference as you have made a difference in my life with your poetry.
May you forever walk in his peace and that you always know his grace. This is my prayer for you.
