of besieged confinement
imprints terror
the stench of decay
wafts among the sails
and rides the wave
billowing canvases
tormented souls
f l e s h b u r n s
an acrid sting
branded and owned
k n o t s
on the cat-o-nine
call my name
I ignore them . .

struggle
to forget
amnesia is salvation
