never believed church was for kids I grew up in church sung in the choir and the songs we sung were not suitable for children like "I'm going up yonder to be with my lord" we gone walk around heaven all day" I'm tired I'm weak I'm worn' the power of life and death is in the tongue we just got here we haven't been here that long what were we doing talking about going back so soon those were funeral songs "one of these mornings it won't be very long you gonna look around and I'll be gone" gone where we just got here never did like the song selection but was told grown folk don't need no corrections now that I'm well into adulthood and well in my right to say grown folk need to get out and go to work for they pay and stop passing around a collection plate

At 82 I still joyfully and freely sing those songs today, and I'm here today still singing, "Ain't gonna let nobody Lordy, turn me round..." in my daily labors of love.
