No longer a slave to the past
Can’t live there anymore
Drop the pain on the floor
Walk out close the door
My circle of life is almost full
Sometimes I had to push
Sometimes I had to pull
Some see it half empty
Others view it half full
Tore some up burned some down
Dug some holes tilled some ground
Dreamed the best dreams I could dream
Stood like a mighty oak
Planted by a stream
There’s the tree I once hung from
Back when the saddest songs were sung
When I ran so fast for freedom sake
Through portals of woods, hills and lakes
All that was has past
What can be undone?
When it washes away
With each rise of the sun
Standing in a place
Discovering tomorrow never comes
In center view of it all
The distance bellows the call
Out of space without form and void
Round and round the vortex wall
A timeless cycle with no end
Ashes to ashes back to dust again
The spirit returns to soar again
Count the fingers count the toes
Wrap the infant in swaddling clothes
Hear the baby crying in the wind
Check the mark I’m back again
