Bills unpaid cupboards bare not one dollar dime quarter or nickel to spare

People look at me with a stare they too can see the desperation in my air

The well is dry nothing is fair this too is my families despair

This dread is ghetto hair you don’t know unless you’ve been there

I declare wars not fair lost my brothers over there

Tricky d*cks and politics Jump some jacks pickup sticks

These streets are cold even in 100 degrees it’s been some time since these trees had leaves

How many lies I’ve been told how many I still believe

“Olly Olly” income free where did you hide my history my avatar is true looking like I’m blue

A day in the life on the avenue Trayvon Martin I pour it out for you

We shed enough tears boo hoo  Get up my people it’s time to do

To my God much respect I wear an ankh around my neck

flames dancing on a wick Tonight the sky is thick

let’s be pacific writing on the walls

Hieroglyphics

Born in Watts in 1963 Tats on me still a homie with education a small one a strong nation

We living in a drought and blood can’t put it out ashes to ashes look at us
Still moving to the back of the bus

we’re hurting our mothers

By killing our sisters and brothers we all need each other

But who really cares to love No one dares
Our blood is running over spilling everywhere

Preaching on the sandy shores of LBC the message is too long to teach

Dust in the air Too much pollution in our hair

Pull up a chair don’t stand over there Have no fear don’t be scared
Bullets flying everywhere

go inside get under the bed

Pull the sheets over your head these streets are painted red

everywhere I go I see the dead

He had a dream that turned into a nightmare He had a plan and was killed by the man

The Barrio rose against us we’re no longer safe in the yard this kind of living is so hard

Tell me where is the Lord?

Hands up get on the ground officer please

shut up get down on your knees

again “WHERE IS THE LORD”?

I prayed and prayed and prayed Still they took my brother away

What did he die for I wish that he lived more Who ever said we are free?

Is a liar the truth is Watts is still on fire?
