You said you were my friend, But many times I called and you were n0t there so I found refuge in my book, You said you were my friend, but many nights I spent with tears in my eyes, and my pillow wiped them off, Countless promises you broke in the name of our friendship, So I was hurt left confused, trying to figure out the meaning of the term friend, For the Bible speaks of ONE that will never let me down, He is always there to carry me, l0ve me and protect me, But that is of Godly creation and since well you n0t God, Jesus or Angelic an, Why did you say you were my friend? Could you n0t have said you were my brother so that way I would know that in you my fate is intertwined with disappointment so you are bound to let me down, Could you have n0t told me the truth from the beginning, Men what have you done??? You t0ld me you were my friend and watched me crawl like Dust on Dirt, You said you were my friend and behaved like my brother, edged me on from the side mercilessly, You said you were my friend but the ground caught me every time I fell to it, It held me every time I crawled on it; it heard me, every time my tears fell towards it, It picked me up cause there was nowhere that felt like home like on it, it never let me down, Because it’s always there, you said you were my friend, Thank you Lord!
