BAM!

Don't call me Emril,

I've got no legacy to leave,

I'm flavorless,

Like Knoxx, I've taken one too many

Hits, but that's a a given.

Don't call me Annie,

I ain't no pretzel.

Sure, I'm doughy on the inside,

Hard, crusty, salted on the outside,

But almost certainly undercooked.

Like fallen cake, too low a temperature,

Under too much pressure.

Don't call me Northwestern,

Far too much travel in this wheelhouse,

With far too little at stake.

I knew there was something fishy about this.

These circumstances,

Conspire against me,

Lead to a smaller payday.

I've still got a family to support,

This downeaster,

No bay man, will I be,

But my hands tell a tale all their own.

Don't call me crazy,

Insanity runs like river,

Under but not through it.

My tree's been sucking at sanity for

Decades.

Time is more than I can spare.

Time won't save us from these mortal wounds.

Don't call me Emril,

Legacy forgotten,

Spice gone out of this life,

Left with the bitters of time and

Confinement.

All I've got left to do,

Is change with the seasons.

I'm rooted too deep for movement,

But you'd know that,

If you paid attention.
