The Twins
Am I you are you me when people look at us exactly what do they really see
Do I have your spirit living in me when we walk together do our hearts agree.
I can see that you don’t share a body but do you share the same mind
It appears that without each other’s eyes you would both be half blind
I wonder do your hearts beat in the same rhythm and at the same time
The likeness you share is amazingly uncanny but yet so sublime
In the nine months that you shared together inside your mother’s womb
Was this your first playground or maybe it was your first dressing room
You walk alike you talk alike and your differences are so very rare
The one main constant is your radiant spirit which both of you share
When the world looks at you they may just see two people having fun
But through my eyes I see two bodies whose spirit is blended into one
Through your conception, three trimesters and then your ultimate birth
You establish a very strong bond that has continued to exist here on earth
I can’t help but notice how you complement each other with the greatest of ease
You seem to possess the purest of character; which must make you so easy to please
I must thank the Lord for allowing me to witness this blessing if only for a moment
Because with each and every encounter you seemed very special and oh so pleasant
To others you maybe soldiers, sister, women, ladies, the girls or maybe best friends
But for the times that I have seen you, I will just simply call you the twins
