After The Storm
Caught up in torrential downpour
Dark Skies
Lightning short circuits my brain
Hearts fried
See I don’t know who is to blame
Tongues Lie
Just wanna be free of the chains
Apartheid
Was I ever good enough for you?
I start to wonder
Can’t even hear myself think clear
Through all this thunder
Mental Monsoon, Emotional Earthquake
Wished I could go back
Delete my Birthdate
Or suffer a worse fate
This blizzard of lies
quick change artist
I didn’t see the disguise
Either Love me or Leave me
I loved myself so I left
Only the clothes on my back
Do what you will with the rest
Picked myself up and dusted myself off
You win some, you lose some
But this was YOUR loss
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure
I survived the sleet, the snow and stormy weather
See I’ve lived a long time and one thing I‘ve learned
Is the bridge that got you there
Is the one you don’t burn
They say it’s lonely at the top but I say it’s a lie
Cause through the pain and the struggle you can look to the sky
After the storm is over
The sun shines at last
and rainbows appear
To help guide your path
