HERO
My father served his country and that made him a hero you see, but the only reason why I loved him was because he was a hero to me.
He was the first man I fell in love with and he called me his sugar pie while he bounced me on his knee, he told me "if no man ever tells you, know this my baby girl you are beautiful to me".
He kissed my boo boo's when I cried and was quick to chastise me when I was wrong, he also taught lessons in life that would forever make me strong.
He wasn't my stepfather because it wasn't biology but love that made use close, he gave me lots of wonderful memories but teaching me how to cook is the one I cherish most.
Even when I got older his wisdom got me through a lot of life's hurdles when I called him for advice, he always had the right things to say about anything I was going through and to me that was extra nice.
The happiest day of my life was when I got married and you walked me down the ilse, you were running late and I refused to do it without you that memory always make’s me smile.
When you were sick I was so happy that my baby girl was there to do the things I couldn't do, like cook and clean or just to watch television while blowing tree's with you.
When God was calling you home I was hurting but happy that “I love you†are the last words I'd hear you say, because even though my baby sister was your favorite you loved us all in your own special way.
I don't know why you were taken away from me so soon but we will never know God's plan, so I'm gonna live the life you wanted for me until we see each other again.
So many kids grow up without a father but I happened to be blessed double you see, you were my father, also the love of my life and forever a hero to me......
