Started off cool as hell, locked eyes and from first sight I saw my life in front of me, so this is what it was like to see a clone of myself, happiness and growth is what I pre planned, you took my hand, switching rolls and we slowly started to stroll down a walk that would take us to an unknown place, heaven knows my friends never seen a look on my face like this, a brotha was on a serious trip, cause from what I was taught a man is never supposed to feel like this, days turned into months and seconds became worth hours in my head, from the streets to the bed, we marinated with one another, friends turned lovers turned companionship on a whole new level, then, that devil started to tap me on the shoulder, the angel on the other side, but I brushed him off that night I met a chick that was cornfed and thick, see what I had at home was good, but this right here looked like a completely wholesome meal that could caress my stomach, cure my hunger and indulge my appetite, I know it wasnt right, but damn, its only so much that a man can take, but leave it to me to cause my own pitfall, cause while I had another chick climbing the walls, I left you stuck between four walls, wondering what time I was coming home at night, it was only so many times I could use work as an excuse, eventually, you let the tears loose and I had no choice but to confess, I mean, who would've thought a devil in a blue dress would actually be real, cause I thought for the longest that it was only a movie title, you spit everything back at me, your feelings, that ring, that emotion you put into me, even the life that you swallowed out of me because you loved me so much, and I felt the most negative emotional rush when I finally seen you walk out the house for the last time, see time had played its course, but I wasnt an expert in the game, and I know it sounds strange, but I'm sorry, not in the apologetic form, but literally saying I'm a sorry excuse for what society calls a man, damn, the power of looks, I was robbed by a pink crook whose main mission was to have someone break her asylum, I was wildin, and now I simply haven't smiled, since I've lost you, and watched you recover, with someone else
