I whispered words into her ear that caused her blood pressure to rise to the point that I became her medication to lower it, we met in the simplest of places, two faces catching eye contact with each other with no other intentions but to say hi, yet not knowing that the minute our eyes locked, we began to unlock each other slowly but surely, the key was hidden, stuck under the doormat, waiting for the right moment to be pulled out and open the door to enter into us, this was nowhere near lust, this was simply just affection and infatuation, more importantly, this was friendship, a ship sailing into rough waters as our keels were battered by waves that broke our shorelines and left cracked shells representing us layed across the sand, we were buried as the tides came in, hiding our worst fears from each other until we felt comfortable exposing them to one another, for you, the patches of your heart that remained unsewn as you pondered on how the stitch machine called your love suddenly broke, for me, it was how one woman could forget simple math and add another man to the mix of an already simple equation, talks brought out the best in the both of us, it almost felt like a high school crush, as late nights were spent with laughs and discussions on how our days went, tired and with all our energy spent, drooping eyes became opened eyes as we locked into each other, and our conversations became deep, eventually we would fall asleep, but our minds would stay awake with the thoughts of us slow dancing to a tune that our hearts could step to, arising the next morning, we departed each other from our ending dreams and stepped back into the real world, leaving our footprints embedded in the sands of time, cause with time, we became closer than we never imagined, and I say never cause I never saw you for what you are now the first day I met you, the only thing I remember seeing is beautiful in a 5'4 package, as for you, I dont know what you seen, I'm just glad that your vision adjusted to me in the future, I passed your past hurts off as minor transactions that were deducted out of your life's account, and I was just hoping to add cash back to it with interest, that way, I could keep you interested in me, so i take this time to write about you and me, thinkin bout the first time that may be the last time, but until then, I'll be satisfied with the time we have now, so now, if you dont mind, I'd like to take your hand, and slow dance.......
