We shedded tears of blood, our feet
planted in the fields at the dusk of dawn
the whipps lashing our blistered skin
no place to run from the monotony of beatings
We were auctioned off,as we stood like figurines
while our offsprings were sold like merchandise
we continued laboring, with hunger as we starved
for freedom
One picturesque morning,freedom reign
with its open arms embraced us as our
Savior,clutching us in its bosom
and as for our slave masters and their
callous hearts, the day of reckoning was
finally at hand.
