Under a Full Moon

I could write
a poem for you
but I would rather
cry my heart out
sing the blues for you
lose my mind
at the thought of losing you
like the way
the wolf howls
under a full moon

A distant Star

If I could travel
to a distant star

Upon the back of
a Humpback Whale
wailing of unrequited love

Into the sun I would set sail
dreaming
aching
yearning the thought of you

Wanting me
just as much
as I want and need you

To love me
as two stars collide
in the darkness of space becoming
one with the universe

Their union forever captured
within the essence of time

So can
you and I

For love knows no boundaries
as it shines effervescent

If I could write a poem
As beautiful as you
It would consist of rainbows and
Mangoes infused
With blues and pinkish hues
Where lake and stream fancy fish that
Dare to dream
To walk on water to get to land
And touch the sky above
Where Race nor Religion ascend
If I could write a poem as beautiful as you
A smile that outshines gravity
And light, bend
Sparkles, that dazzle
A waltz within your eyes
I find myself immersed
I reach for a star
And grabbed, a
Universe

The Demise of An Aspiring Poet

feverishly
feeding off cod
discursively meandering
the letting of blood
the culmination of my own
psychosis coagulated thought
strangulated nonsense
drools

into a pool of spue

desecrated
with frivolous ideas
emanating
a stench beyond reason

that only I
find scintillating

sort of like
maggots
ensconced
in putrid libation

I drown
in spasmodic
maundering
fumbling about
in lunacy
hungering obscurity

self-debasement defiles me
my every gratitude

the rope is only the tool

slithering
in filth
of my own demise
bathing in its
deprivation
thoughts of the rope seduce sirens
what chance have I
to deny my fate

 tears from her laughter

brightens a room completely

my heart pulsates

with envy  of my eyes

for it knows love

whereas the eyes

knows only lust

I am smitten

by your beauty

driven

by  desire

to be near you

to hold you

in essence

to know you

to drink of your wine

and loose myself

in it's indulgence

we talk about this and that

bordering the edges of

polite chatter

that sparkle in your eye

highlights a devilish glint

you lean closer

and whisper in my ear
