Hey there my fellow poets! Blessings and greetings to you all for a prosperous new year. Life has been pretty rough for me since I last posted but nonetheless, as always with God's mercy and grace I've persevered. I'm finally at a point where I can start posting again. I so miss being on here and reading everyone's works. I hope that everything is going well for everyone. Let's keep the inklove flowing!

A woman so loved
No one could take her place
As she greeted each day
With a smile on her face
Her soul as sweet as honey
Her heart as pure as gold
The joy behind her smile
Was a story yet to be told.
She took each day as it came to her
With neither fuss nor fight
For she knew one day she'd walk with angels
And everything would be alright.
As the angels came to greet her
With her halo and wings in hand
It was then Ann took her first step
In God's holy land.
Ann will be terribly missed
But forever in our hearts
She stands with God side by side
As he gives her a brand new start.
Ann we love you dearly
We'll think of you every day
I just hope you'll be there for me
On my judgement day.

Indeed a timely read for me in the sense of having to die unto yourself. It resonates with me merely my it's title and a fact that bettering comes with death. I mean no disrespect here a beautiful heartfelt write. As my tears flow thank you for sharing.

Thank you blessme520. I appreciate your kind words. I had written this for a family friend years ago not knowing that I'd have to do it again for 2 more of the same family members. I write these because sometimes it's the only comfort I have to offer. I call them God's Blessings.
