Oh say can you see,by the shoes on our feet & the cloths on our backs,that proudly...we stand black
Once in our past our nation was colorless,seeing white as "it",treatin' black like ,
but now take a look at us...bout 2 have us a black president!!
Now aint dat legit ? behold all my young sistas & all my young brothas,this is now a nation that is being shown in full color!
by the dawns early light,4 some years we put up quite a fight ,just 2 be heard,felt, seen,all thanx 2 a dream,that martin once dreamt,& not moving out of that seat in which Rosa parks once sat...& the list goes on & on.....through all the rights & wrongs,the negatives & the pos's,we are the living example of how wonderful our god is....having create a beautiful race that was once seen as ugly,now everybody wanna rap all in the club doing "my Dougie"...i mean our Dougie...America likes our swag,who do yall really think is the reason why eminem wears his cap 2 da back,or folks throw dubs on da lack....
what so proudly we hailed by the twighlights last gleaming,or maybe its the chains,hanging down 2 the v-lines of every dope boy posted on each corner doin their thang,or the 1s behind bars we still got love 4 u.....can u name another race dat sticks 2gether like we do ? tougha den elmers glue,we never come apart,slowly takin over america & capturing folks in the hearts...bringing america 2 color leavong traces all around the globe,all because of what we did when we did it on our own,in our homes,born natural creaturs of most things they tried 2 claim,mainly the reason why we were so badly hated,but now here we are chromatic as can be,& were on the big screens in that ol' nation that was once known as the colorless tv

"Jewels of the night"

Land of the free, home of the brave

That i cant even recognize my sistas, hair extensions brazillion, true identity concealed this just cant be real

But it is, sorry to say, we rather treat each other like prey and stand in line for jays

Be real s, and bad es, but neglect our brains

But whos to blame? Us, but it dont have to be this way

With enough self love there will be no hate

Faint memories of flying, but don't recall having wings I look to the sky to remind me, yet i can't remember a thing Episodes of ecstasy , vivid images of freedom, something this life just doesn't give me, but in my memory...i believe I was once there without a care, without a worry Without pain, without tears, every spirit has a story A story lost of time, a time capsule to remind, located in the center of the mind that you cannot find if you are blind..i believe Im closer than i've ever been before, to my original form in which my connection has been torn Lets reunite and ignite like a flame in the night, warm..that's all i hope for, i'm not the same without my core Who was i before life? "Black berry"

The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice The blacker the berry the deeper the wounds The sweetest of fruits, they fiend for our juice So they squeeze and they squeeze till were wrinkled like prunes Freed from our roots, aint got a clue where we started All we know is the hands from which we were picked, and the bowl we've been washed in Sold to the public, displayed at the market Used and abused for someone else to profit Black berry....do you remember your bush? Before it was trimmed, do you remember your roots? Do you remember at all being planted in groups? Not bagged up, in competition for some hungry man to choose....us They don't care about your beauty..no They don't care about no unity...no They don't care about what we used to be..no they don't care about you and me They don't care about our roots all they know is we make one hell of a fruit So beautiful and smooth.. enough for some hungry man to choose....US Black...

The forever quest

In a moment of extasy he plunges deep into her atlantis

In hopes to find remains of a lost civilization of her past

Wondering what they felt once upon a time between her thighs

Searching slowly making sure he wouldnt miss a stroke by swimming too fast

In 90 degree weather hes as cold as antartica

Only showing emotion when hes strokin warmed by the flesh of a woman

A feeling so good he couldnt notice the pain

In his chest, with no regrets..he expects good sex to numb it

First kiss to her lips, imagining hes kissed her millions of times before

And that he wakes up in her arms every morning

Hoping to see his soul in an assortment of eyes..but never sees nothing

So on his heart layers of ice begins forming

He climaxes his frustration Releasing sweet moans and whimpers

His pride wont let him cry, so he ejaculates his demise in her open mouth

Then rolling over holding her close wondering if this one wou...

"oh, belle ombre"

At night as i lay in bed alone with the vacant half of my bed cold...i drift

Elevating towards the ceiling replaced by the entire galaxy above my exposed and naked body...he is

Trapped inside my shadow ,though i cant touch him i can feel the warmth

As it moves around my body gently clinging to its source

My eyes twinkled just a bit as the stars stained my pupils..they shined

Like diamonds in a river on a bright and early morning..its shape and texture defined

Sublime it was indeed to find out this was all just a dream

Which i would soon wake up to notice that all along ive been asleep

To travel through my conciousness in desperate hopes to find my shadow

In the image of a king or in the image of a pharoah

Missing the way it protected me and put my mind ...

"Love is"

Love is a weapon, like hate is deception

To kill with kindness, the ultimate test

Theres a method to the madness

To love despite the odds, to keep on giving fron the heart

Its hard to except sometimes, its nore than the heart can take

It can make your spirit break

There is no force on this earth that can defend against its mighty force

Sooner or later hate will give in and the victory is yours

"Slaughter for the kill"

Like a herd of cattle in a feild

So is the slaughter for the kill

A sacrafice to take a life, power hungry, for self only

To fight this war we cannot win

A chess game tragedy, the reason is a mystery

Like a pawn with a gun, will i be the one?

What will we gain when the past is the same?

Some things will never change

"Hands up, dont shoot"

I have nothing that can harm you

Tell me what is it about me that poses

As a threat to you armed fools?

I may have broke the law...then again i

Couldve been innocent

If youre here to serve and protect, why do you seem to lack diligence

You have tasers, you have batons, tell me...why resort to murder?

All these unnecessary slayings just for reasons thats unheard of

Though i couldve done wrong, i certainly did not deserve this

You couldve put me in a squad car with cuffs smacked around my wrists

But while i stand here with my hands up, dont shoot!! Dont shoot!!

You may label me a criminal, but lets not forget i am human too

I do not have a weapon, what could i p...

"Nation under fire"

I woke up out my sleep to a stench in the air

I cried, i choked, but couldnt figure out where

Where the smell was coming from..in my house? On the streets?

Thats when i opened up the door and saw flames in the trees

to my surprise these...were the same trees from my dreams

Only difference is i could not see the strange fruit taking place of its leaves

As i did in my dream...a fruit so rotten

I could smell fire,mixed with blood, mixed with tears, mixed with cotton

The same smell from my ancestors whos long been forgotten

Im seeing faces in the smoke of neferneferauten and akenauten

Only a memory,just a memory of a time we reigned royal

I close my ears to loud sobs coming from underneath the soil

Where bodies lay...millions...and that too was on fire..

Its getting hard to breathe, and im starting to get tired

As i continue to walk the block, i get a glimpse of iraq...that ignited like a bomb
