Christians Through Sinful Eyes

CATEGORY

Broken souls criticized through self righteous eyes

Prove church attendance to be minimized

And potential salvation demised

Because of ignorance to the soul behind a sinner's cry

Claiming to walk in the light of Christ

But your rays that shine so bright

Fall just short of reaching the backslider

Because you don't love with the love of Christ

A vessel of God you claim to be

Turning your nose up quickly

When God's spoken words aren't heeded immediately

Instead of just doing your part by planting the seed

And letting the Alpha give the increase

Feeling ignored and offended you act selfishly

And forget all about little old me

Little old us who struggle daily

Praying that someone can reach us internally

Too ignorant to understand that you may be the only God some folks see/

The godly Christian all holy on Sunday

After clubbing on Friday and Saturday

Calling around to gossip on Monday

Answering booty calls Tuesday through Thursday

Having a few glasses of water turned into wine

Self communing with God so you say

But sober enough to play church again next Sunday

Doing things your way but preaching His way

His undisputed words of truth sometimes reach my heart in delay

If pictures are worth thousands of words, if my example is what you display

How can I hope to see heaven if you can't teach me to pray

Everybody didn't grow up in church

Didn't know there was a God before you came

Convicting my lifestyle for God's glory

But can't even lend an ear to hear the first sentence of my story

Starting out sharing God's word can easily turn into self glorification

When you choose to send your Holy Ghost on vacation

Readily taking credit for the soul won for Christ

Taking honor from something that could have easily been your life

Putting down those who are mix matched

Or perhaps have clothes with holes

But I'll take that any day over mix matched feelings

Of who I desire to be the keeper of my soul

You see a sinner when you look at me

But when I look at you

All I see

Is a hypocrite staring back at me
